The Seagull 3D
Constructed from Anton Chekhov's Famous Comedy Directed by Brian Rott & Megan Kaminsky Movement by Jessi Miller A seasick playwright swims through symbols to find his form. A provincial girl and her seagull pursue dreams of celebrity. A celebrated actress claws to maintain her position and power. A popular writer of landscapes looks to pen a work deemed greater than pleasant. A fine line between success and failure, dream and nightmare, life and death, love and hate. The Seagull, Chekhov's only full-length comedy opened in St. Petersburg in 1896 and was declared a bonafide flop, prompting Chekhov to swear off theatre. Three years later, it's successful premiere at The Moscow Art Theatre, would exalt Chekhov to international fame, thus forging his position in the pantheon of drama. Some might call this irony, Chekhov might call this comedy.... But he's dead. And this is The Seagull 3D! Brought to you live, in space, in Technicolors, and Surround Sounds--so real you might just believe you're there! Come, experience the ecstasy of artistic creation! Partake in the torment of unrequited love! Witness the splendor and self-loathing of success! The Quasimondo invites you to participate in this fully interactive spectacular 3D environment. Glasses included. Halloween Tree Inspired by Ray Bradbury Directed by Brian Rott and Chris MacGregor Movement by Jessi Miller A troop of young boys in hodgepodge costumes trick or treat their way through time in search of their best friend, Pipkin. The quest leads them around the world, through the origins of Halloween, and to the door of man's most primal fear. Will they find their lost friend, or turn into pumpkins themselves? This bone-chilling production addresses the duality of the holiday; our desire to venture into darkness and recoil into light. Lovingly dedicated to the late Ray Bradbury; certainly one of the greatest American authors of our time. The Nutcracker and the Mouse King Adapted from the story by E.T.A. Hoffman Directed by Brian Rott and Simon Eichinger Tis the season! What better way to celebrate the holiday but by cozying up with friends and enjoying one of winter's classic stories. But what exactly is the story? Surprisingly different from one might think! Shopping for a picky audience, want to find a nontraditional present for that special someone? Give the gift of a nut-cracking alternative. The Quasimondo's production, inspired by German writer E.T.A. Hoffman's original fairytale, will be bursting with toys, masks, mice, sugarplums, soldiers, dolls, and puppets, to delightfully surprise believers and non-believers alike! Through a generous use of poetry, music, dance, cuisine, and revelry, Bacchanalia will offer its participants the pleasure of acquainting and celebrating the most ancient and primal qualities of human nature. Americlown Written and Directed by Brian Rott and Evan Koepnick Clowns were born to disrupt the status quo, to speak out against what no one else can whisper. They are the products of class, wealth, and power (or lack there of ). They are armed with the most dangerous weaponry available: laughter. This Quasimondo original strives to discover and reveal the clowns of 21st Century America living beside and within us. |
